A totally organic medium for the discerning grower. This mix has been developed and trialled by Mike Graves (champion chrysanthemum grower) and Peter Booker of Bofield carnations with cup grabbing results. It is a free draining, peat free medium without any added fertiliser. It has been used for direct sowing of rooted cuttings and small plants followed by a feeding regime and also with the addition of organic fertiliser or in organic fertiliser as a normal potting medium. The benefits of using this compost from the observations are:- Plants grow well and give high quality blooms, I do not have to source and mix different components, it is economical, it is totally organic, it is peat free, the main constituent being sterilised Kettering Loam and complete control over feeding regime.
